Become a Mentor or Volunteer

Every youth from foster care is just one caring adult away from becoming a success story—YOU could be that person. The Stephen Braggs Youth Foundation (SBYF) seeks dedicated volunteers and mentors to make a meaningful impact in the Greater Austin Area. You have the flexibility to choose a role that best suits you, and don’t worry—we provide all the training you need.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN A LIFE OF A YOUTH

Mentors

  • Mentors meet one-on-one with their matched youth for at least two hours, twice a month, to set goals, provide guidance, and build a strong mentor-youth relationship.
  • Mentors must be 25 years or older.
  • Schedule a virtual information meeting with the SBYF Founder and successfully complete a screening process. 
  • Required to complete an 8-hour training.
  • Commit to meeting with their matched youth for a minimum of four hours per month. 
  • Mentors must also have a reliable vehicle, current insurance, and a clean driving record.
